magazine ideas: whats popular from my research

Magazine ideas: whats popular from my research

-         From my evidence most people do 4 courses in college (63%). Although there are some who do 2 or 3 (38%).

From this evidence I might include something such as a discussions page on my magazine, where people can talk to each other about the subjects they do and seek advice from each other.

-         Out of the people I’ve surveyed, they enjoy sociology and English the most.

I could include features in my magazine that are based on these subjects. For example I might have a poetry or creative writing section, or include book charts and what books are fresh and new at the moment.

Similarly, I might take the same outlook with sociology, including surveys or interesting facts that are based around socialisation or families and households. Anything really that is included in the AS / A2 level work.

-         Most people in my evidence like indie music.

I am going to include a feature on new bands, or a feature that has reviews of new indie music or live gigs. I think this will make people want to read about exciting new music. It won’t just be indie music, but now I have a good genre to include in my magazine.

-         Family guy was the most liked TV show. I might include some family guy merchandise in a competition, or have a feature on the show and it’s creation – maybe link this in with animation / media.

-         75% of people I questionnaire work or have a part time job. I might include an article on the importance of working / having a part time job. Whether or not they are necessary and whether people need them, things like that.

-         Everyone I surveyed had different dream jobs. This shows that this might not be the best one to do when putting full emphasis on a certain job.

-         Most people liked Topshop the best. I could include a voucher / competition for Topshop so that people are attracted to buy the magazine.

-         Most people’s favourite colours were blue and green. This suggests they might be good colours to include in the colour scheme, especially seeing as the colours aren’t necessarily very gender biased, and are bright and colourful.

-         Most people liked football – it could be a good sport to include a feature on.

-         Most people want to live in the USA
